CLINICAL INTERN
Josh is completing his Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Bridgewater State University and currently serves as a clinical intern at Heal As You Grow.
Josh approaches his work with empathy, humility, and intentionality, striving to create a space where clients feel safe, understood, and respected. He views therapy as a holistic, person-centered, and goal-oriented process grounded in a strong therapeutic alliance. He works collaboratively with clients to explore their experiences, deepen self-awareness, and make meaningful, values-driven choices in their lives.
Josh has extensive experience working with individuals facing challenges with substance use, emotional regulation difficulties, trauma, and suicidality. Josh also has a background in career counseling within the university setting, where he supported students in building meaningful career paths. Across both clinical and academic spaces, Josh focuses on helping individuals cultivate flexibility, clarity, and resiliency in pursuit of meaningful, values-driven lives.
Outside of his clinical work, Josh enjoys hiking, exploring national parks, and learning about local histories. He is committed to ongoing professional growth, regularly pursuing advanced training, attending and presenting at conferences, and providing consultation and workshops on topics such as suicide assessment, substance use prevention and intervention, and career development.
“I consider having the opportunity to work in the helping profession to be one of the greatest privileges. Each day I am honored to work with people during some of the most challenging and transformative moments in their lives. This work continues to be humbling, inspiring, and deeply meaningful for me.”
