Shelby is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor through NBCC. She received her Graduate Degree from Bridgewater State University in 2021. Shelby is passionate about expanding her knowledge and skillset to best support the needs of the individuals she serves. Shelby is currently training in EMDR therapy.

 

Shelby is a social justice advocate who celebrates diversity and inclusion. She welcomes people from all backgrounds and walks of life. She has experience with treating teens, adults, and families. She has worked with clients in a variety of settings including outpatient therapy, schools, residential treatment, and inpatient hospitalization. These experiences allow for her to have a good understanding of how to navigate the mental healthcare system. She has experience in working with clients who are experiencing concerns with anxiety and depression, LGBTQIA+ identity, grief, trauma / PTSD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and other major life changes. 

 

Shelby’s theoretical orientation is rooted deeply in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She believes the client is the expert in their own life and collaborates with them in healing and facilitating positive life changes. Shelby aims to provide therapeutic treatment in a warm and judgement free-zone. She is thrilled to be a part of Heal As You Grow and looks forward to being a part of your healing journey.

 

Shelby was born and raised on the South Shore and is well-integrated in the community. She is an extrovert that loves a good sense of humor. She loves the beach, reading mystery stories, and spending time with family.
